I received these two photos along with a ton of other autographed memorabilia from a family friend who passed. He was in his 80’s, and I was told he had this memorabilia for years. But that doesn’t mean these aren’t reprints. Although I’m not an expert in photography, these do appear to be authentic, dating back to this time period. However, as you can see they are not in the best condition. So I hate to waste money sending these off to PSA for authentication if they will bring minimal return.

If they are authentic and in this rough condition, do they have much value? Should I send to PSA for a certificate or get them encased by PSA?

They are definitely not Type I photos.

Send pictures of the backs that will tell us much more.

Holding them up to light. And on a solid surface.

Thank you. The Printing style appears from the general time period. For my own learning, are you saying that bc of the clarity? Or are there certain markings that would say that they are type 1?

The photo of babe is from his 1934 Goudey. It is definitely a type 3 or 4. The clarity is very poor.
Copied from a Proof photo such as this.

I'd Assume the Team photo is also in the same boat but I didn't look into it.

I would guess they both date 50s-70s range. And I don't think they have much value.

Thanks so much for your advice. Hate to waste money on authentication of something that has little to no value.
