So who wins the Big Game today?

I didn't see any prognostication threads yet for Super Bowl LVII, so I thought I would start one to make sure all could see at the top of the thread how wrong I was:)

Chiefs 27- Eagles 23

MVP: Mahomes (I know, way to go out on a limb)

And a couple of prop predictions for the gamblers, who have to get involved in everything these days

Halftime show: B+

Quality of commercials overall: C

It's unreal how much is happening here in the Valley of the Sun this weekend-- the golf tournament, dozens of concerts and events related to the Game or the tourney, buzz around this Durant guy coming to the Suns, excitement for Spring Training just around the corner. All with perfect weather (for now).

Shoeless Moe 02-12-2023 10:03 AM

The halftime show B+??????? Rianna?

I can't think of a better time to take a shit.

These questions come up every year. And I am still gonna go with the referees.

They never win anything, maybe this is their year.

B.T.

Snapolit1 02-12-2023 12:10 PM

Casey2296 02-12-2023 12:11 PM

I'm covering tails on the coin toss and hoping my pool numbers come up.

cgjackson222 02-12-2023 12:17 PM

Eagles by 4

mrreality68 02-12-2023 02:46 PM

I do not like either team

If Mahomes stays healthy they win

If Mahomes gets hurt by Eagles Defense then they lose

Prediction

Philly by 6

philliesfan 02-12-2023 06:49 PM

Well my Eagles are looking good. I think they need to stop the Chiefs on the first drive in the second half.

They are looking real good both their offense and defense

Time of possession wow for Philly

BobbyStrawberry 02-12-2023 08:13 PM

Refs hand the Chiefs the game two weeks in a row. Wow

Shoeless Moe 02-12-2023 08:15 PM

Fly Eagles Fly.........back to Philadelpia.........................empty-handed!

mrreality68 02-12-2023 08:16 PM

Wow great game

Great ending

But that holding pass on Philly in final 2 minutes changes the game

D. Bergin 02-12-2023 08:31 PM

Refs did a fairly decent job letting them play……….right up until that atrocious call at the end of the game. Robbed the Eagles of 1 more possession. Anti-climactic ending to what should have been an even more exciting game then it already was.

insidethewrapper 02-12-2023 09:02 PM

I agree, I was happy that the refs stayed out of most of the game until the end. It was fun to watch without the "holding and interference " penalties during the whole game. I wish it would have been decided on the field and not helped by the ref.

Jewish-collector 02-12-2023 09:35 PM

What the $%^&^ happened to the Eagles ?

mrreality68 02-13-2023 04:33 AM

ended it up being a great game

The call was a correct call but they should have let it play thru.

The worst part is the rioting and damage being caused in PHIlly now. That is what ruins it the most.

Rhianna's hair made her look like a Dr. Seuss character..

Riots when they win and riots when they lose. Then there are these assholes who don't need any reason to riot at all. :(

I didn't see anything about rioting and damage happening in Philly after the Super Bowl last night. Can you provide any links to what you are referring to?

From the video link, I'm not sure I would call that rioting. Most of what could be seen looked pretty calm with people just walking around and a few climbing poles (not sure why that is so popular in Philly). There's always going to be a number of drunken idiots getting arrested win or lose. In looking at local reporting from Philly, I didn't see any mention of any large scale problems. The link below talks about 14 arrests which probably is no worse than a normal night in a lot of major cities.

https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news...-loss/3498484/

"There were some incidents of vandalism, but for the most part the crowds were not rowdy.

However, SkyForce10 did capture a brief clash between a large group of Philadelphia bicycle police officers and a group of people along Broad Street.

Philadelphia police later revealed to NBC10 that one officer was injured, but refused medical treatment. At least one person was arrested for assaulting a police officer.

Besides the assault arrest, two other people were arrested on misdemeanors and 11 were arrested for disorderly conduct during the evening, police told NBC10."

Very odd that there's a such an entrenched thing in Philly to go nuts and act like buffoons in relation to sports events. Obviously happens all over the world, but I've lived in NYC, Boston and Chicago and don't recall it being such a constant. Stupidity happens everywhere, but it's not a source of civic pride.
