Autographed 1957 Topps Tom Heinsohn

Discovered/Re-Discovered while thumbing through my set. Do you think it's a legit autograph?

I don't love it but worth a shot at authenticating. I am not as familiar with his older, period signature but does not have the flow of more recent years. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback!

definitely worth authenticating. I have not seen this signature style for the last name before, but his more vintage sigs have much more variance than newer ones. The "Tom" looks good.

It’s good. Get it authenticated.

LuckyLarry 01-21-2025 12:26 PM

Thanks for the feedback I think I will send it off to PSA for grading and authentication. It might be a few months but I'll post results here.

Good luck. Hope for your sake it doesn't come back as "secretarial," or
wifey." Only way to find out is send it in. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

It looks real, Larry. See you in Chicago !!!

bigfanNY 01-24-2025 11:27 AM

If Joe says it's good it's good...but the problem is the Person at PSA authenticating it is almost certainly not as familiar with 1950's Celtics signatures as he is.
Good Luck
J

I hope this helps in your decision, attached is his autograph from 1954 when he played for Holy Cross.

Card is in possession of PSA so I guess we will all find out. I did note on the submission that Net54 thought it was a period autograph. I'll post it here when I find out (it will be several weeks).
Thanks for all the feedback.

Good luck with that Larry. I turned in 5 items in January, regular processing, and they haven't made it through the first phase of receipt!

Maybe we will live long enough to find out!

One of the items I turned in is an autographed Johnny Cash Fan Membership Club from 1961. I know it's 100% authentic, as it also has Pat Isom's autograph on the back of the card. She was a family friend and helped him get started in the early years and served as the first president of the fan club. I wanted to get it authenticated more for preservation than authentication.

I think your autograph is good to go.

Jim

Larry you knew 7 years ago that this Signature was traced over. So why the drama? So you could sell a card for a couple hundred bucks?

Jonathan thank you for posting. I totally forget about the history of my card. Maybe this explains why PSA would not slab the card, they determined the autograph had been traced over (although it doesn’t appear that way to me).
