Home run trivia

Who are the 5 players to hit 100 or more home runs for three different teams?

D. Bergin 05-11-2025 08:03 AM

A-Rod is the first that springs to mind.

D. Bergin 05-11-2025 08:04 AM

Sheffield was on so many teams, he’s got to be one to, unless he was on too many teams.

Correct. He did it with the Mariners, Rangers and Yankees.

Reggie Jackson, I’m hoping he hit 100 as an Angel.

Only 2 teams for Sheffield (Dodgers and Marlins). 76 for the Yankees was the closest he came to 100 for a third team.

A-Rod. Gotta think about the others.

Yes, Reggie hit 123 for the Angels and also had over 100 for the A's and Yankees.

Dave Winfield?

Only 2 teams for Winfield (Yankees and Padres). He didn't play long enough anywhere else to get close to 100 for a third team.

Fred McGriff?

McGriff was so close - 130 for the Braves and 125 for the Blue Jays but only 99 for Tampa Bay. He also had 84 for the Padres so he might be the closest to 100 for 4 teams, but only did it for 2.

Adrian Beltre?

Yes, Beltre with the Rangers, Dodgers and Mariners.

2 more answers left.

Darrell Evans & Nelson Cruz?

or perhaps the most 'unknown' 400-homer guy: Edwin Encarnation (probably didn't even spell his name right)?

D. Bergin 05-11-2025 09:53 AM

I’ll throw out Dave Kingman. Another guy with a lot of teams. Maybe too many again?

Yes, Darrell Evans with the Braves, Tigers and Giants. Good job. I thought that would be the one that would take the longest to get.

Nelson Cruz (Rangers and Mariners) and Edwin Encarnacion (Blue Jays) didn't get to 3 teams.

Kingman was close - 154 with the Mets and 100 with the A's but only 94 with the Cubs and 77 with the Giants.

4 correct so far - A Rod, Darrell Evans, Adrian Beltre and Reggie Jackson. One left.

Peter_Spaeth 05-11-2025 01:03 PM

Thome? Cleveland Phillies White Sox.

Aquarian Sports Cards 05-11-2025 02:15 PM

Trying to think of guys who had decent runs with three teams.

Curtis Granderson
Lee May
Adam Dunn
Nelson Cruz
Jim Thome

If it's not one of those I'm stumped

Yes, Thome is the last answer.

cgjackson222 05-11-2025 03:37 PM

Great trivia question!

Cliff Bowman 05-11-2025 05:04 PM

Thome cheated, he went back to the Phillies in his last year to hit only five home runs to barely reach 100 with the Phillies :D.
