Characters from American history/culture mentioned on baseball cards

I was checking my cards while following along with the recent thread on 1936-37 WWG, and I was reminded of a reference on the Bolton card to a prominent (non-baseball) character in American history/culture. That got me wondering how many other baseball cards contain similar references. I'll lead off with Daniel Boone and Superman. Anybody got any others?

I wondered which Daniel Boone gave Cliff Bolton "fatherly counsel" because the famous Daniel Boone died in 1820 and his son (also named Daniel Boone) died in 1839.

I am pretty sure it was a reference to James "Dan" Boone because they both played on High Point in the Piedmont League in 1927 and 1928 (Dan on the way down, Cliff on the way up, with a 12 year age difference between the two) which would make this not a cultural reference but a baseball reference (or a cultural reference once removed, I guess, assuming the nickname derived from the original Daniel Boone).
