I love when people pay to have their “press release” posted on sites like that.

No one cares about TAG grading, no one will care about this.

The only place AI grading is going is to vending machine devices like the things PSA is going to have at Costco , it will even snap a slab around the card when it's done grading. You just place the card in a little tray and it retracts it in and grades it, authenticates it, it's amazing and only takes like 10 minutes total. Imagine rolling something like that out at brick and mortar Costcos around the country it would immediately mean the end of TAG and other competitors especially if PSA keeps their famous branding on the slabs. A different colored label will more than likely denote to people that it was graded by AI, called it PSA Lite or something.

edit: im no insider just roleplaying as PSA board room

I have zero idea how AI grading actually works. In the story it says the same card will receive the same grade every time and have a $1000 guarantee that it will. To me that is the most important part of grading, consistency. From personal experience PSA is a dumpster fire at best when it comes to consistency and SGC was way better but far from perfect. I wish them the best because we need way better than what we have now.

"Zeagley is aiming to shift card grading back to what it was meant to be: fast, fair, and fun"

Hahaha, because it's "fun" to pay somebody for their opinion on your card, and now you can pay a vending machine for its "opinion" yippee!

Deleted message...misunderstood how the images would be captured for grading and my criticism isn't valid based on the understanding.

That will be a great time to exit the hobby.

It has nothing to do with the grading and everything to do with the brand value that PSA has built for themselves in the marketplace. Value is tied to PSA grades not grades.

AI grading may eventually have it's day, but for right now the existing vintage hobby would be a lot better served by increased competition among recognized, reputable graders instead of just two choices owned by the same parent company. At least IMO. I'd much rather see progress there than with AI grading for the short term future.

This I like. The AI shill bidding, however......

I bet you could fool AI pretty easily in regards to authenticity.

I wouldn't doubt it. But I would think we are many years away from AI grading vintage (accurately)....who knows though?
I saw a video of an AI grading process. It was interesting.
