1969 Topps Tom Seaver White Letters?

Has anyone ever seen any 1969 Topps cards with white letters instead of the usual yellow, outside of the known 5th series white letter variations?

This Seaver really jumped out as different as I was sorting a pile of 69s.

Seaver isn't one of the variations - from the look of this sample I'd say it was faded perhaps from prolonged sunlight - if you didn't know the word METS was supposed to be in yellow, you might not guess it was.

Faded.

I agree it's faded. I've been collecting Seavers forever and have never seen or heard of a white letter variation for him.

I can now see in the very light yellow on his last name and on the Mets team name. The larger scan makes this stand out more. It is tough to see with the naked eye (at least for me). You're all correct the the card looks faded.

It's either faded, or was missing a color pass. The "METS" is supposed to be brighter yellow as well.

This illustrates how relatively easy it would be to turn a 69 yellow letter Mantle into a more valuable white letter variety. Just stencil out his letters and put the card under a light for a few weeks, and presto.
