Hello,
I have had this ruth picture for 50 years, 49 to be exact, i am 57, got it at age 8. my dad bought it at a flea market, i was there and remember, framed it and hung it in my room as a kid, hung there many years. Fast forward, cleaning out parents attic and realize he had saved it and put in a box with other childhood stuff and stored it. now it was old when i got it, i took pics, please note it is a little yellow around edges, does not show up well in pics. I would like to know if anybody has seen this before, clear he isnt wearing his yankee hat, some striped hat. i have looked for the same pic, on the net, and didn't find it.....some writing on back i know nothing about, looks like p-4 r-2? and a word starting with o..any help would be appreciated...

I'm guessing the image would have been taken in 1938 when Ruth was 1B coach for Brooklyn? They wore that style of cap, albeit with the usual Dodger B on the front.

The penciled notation appears to read "Original" to me.

That looks like it says "original" to me as well.

Babe Ruth in motion pictures

In 1932 Ruth performed in the film short"Perfect Control." He is wearing the same uniform. Franklin Pangborn, who was a pretty famous character actor in those days, is in the skit.
