Cap Anson cards question.

Which card is more desirable as well the difficulty to obtain?
looking to pick one up. PSA 1-2 or SGC 10-20

Hopefully the National will have some there.

1895 N300 Mayo's
N162 Goodwin Champions

Or any other recommendations on a Cap Anson for the budget of the grades i am looking for.

Thanks in advance.

His N172 in Uniform is the hardest I believe

Nothing wrong with the N300s, but the N162s are spectacular. I think the consensus is that's the more desirable of the two. N284 (1887) is arguably a rookie card if you care about that, but it's pretty late in his career and preceded by plenty of CDVs and team cabinets and the like.

Anson in uniform is the tougher by far of Anson's two N172 poses, but in the Old Judge world there are certainly scarcer cards, and in fact scarcer HOF cards. As far as I know there are 5 Anson in Uniform and there are fewer copies of a pose of Wright as well as a pose of Connor. I think of all the cards you mentioned the N162 is the best looking. Mayos had two distinct printings with one sharper than the other. Strive to get a sharp copy if you take this route.

I don't have any now but I agree, the N162s are really nice looking...

My favorite, 1887 Gold Coin Buchner N284 Cap Anson, Left Hand On Hip

And, Jay, if I am not mistaken, Cap's N172 in uniform is his head but another player's body.
