1954 Gray Backs - SGC ERROR - UGH

I'm hoping maybe someone from SGC is lurking...after a month of anticipation and others waiting for the availability of two 1954 Topps Canadian Gray Backs, their scans were published today.

They got the tags flip flopped!!! They are getting ready to ship back, hopefully they will fix this before it's shipped. I've sent several emails, can't find a phone number. FRUSTRATING!! Frustrating as my last sub contained an error as well.

Cards look great, grades were as expected and guessed by many...IF the tags were correct!!!!

I'm surprised to see such an obvious error from SGC. I guess PSA and SGC really are the same company.

Despite the swapped labels, awesome looking cards John!

Thanks Larry! They are really neat cards for sure...

UPDATE...Brent at SGC is all over it...unfortunately (normally fortunately!) it was quickly shipped but a plan is in place to rectify. I really do appreciate their fast customer service.

1954 Gray Backs - SGC ERROR - UGH

Are those really gray backs??? I do not think so.

Compare to this one…all using SGC website cert lookup scans. And all were scanned within two months of each other this year at SGC.

I believe the Billy and the Monte you posted are mine I just had graded...and very cool to see a Jackie.

Looks pretty gray to me...:) SGC agreed...

Yeah, but I’m saying yours are not gray backs.

Ok, convinced. Trick scans I guess.

I acknowledge that scans can be tricky but would emphasize the larger point. I believe the TPGs are inadvertently polluting the population by mislabeling dingy white backs. Not to mention sellers misrepresenting raw examples. In the last three days I have seen an archive card and #108 Kipper being offered as gray backs.

I would just say "measure twice and cut once" when making an offer on these.
