1969 Topps Ruler Lew Alcindor

Do you think Lew Alcindor's Topps Ruler Rookie Card will eventually get the attention it deserves? Its such a low pop card but doesnt seem to very collectible at the moment

Doubt it. Just too weird. I’ve never seen anyone make a “so excited to have picked up this grail Alcindor ruler” post.

And it’s one of those items where you can barely tell the difference in eye appeal between high and mid or even low grade copies.

I love the rulers. They are fantastic in the holders. You are correct though, grades are completely random. I'm talking from psa 10 through psa 3

Not sure why it "deserves" attention? It's oddball, very, and my guess is most people would not find it an attractive card either. I would buy only because you like it, not because of its "investment" potential. By and large, the cards with "investment" potential are the mainstream, iconic RCs.

If you have one, get it signed by him while he is still vertical. Once he passes away, this signed ruler will be VERY DESIRED.

This got me to thinking are there any early 70’s Topps cards signed ‘Lew Alcindor’ by him? I found some period pieces signed by him as Lew Alcindor but I didn’t see any cards, but I imagine some exist.

We have one of his rookie cards signed "Lew Alcindor" coming up for auction this week. They exist but seems like from my research there are maybe only 3-4 other known examples out there.

Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://weiss.auction/auctions/17696...3ALew+Alcindor
