Any knowledge on these Brooklyn photos?
 

I recently acquired these two photos. The Newcombe was taped into a scrap book with a 1953 Dixie Lid Premium Preacher Roe. I had never seen the Newcombe photo before and but it appeared authentic and from the time period. It is 8 x 10 printed on a thin paper stock with a semi-gloss. Later I found a similar style photo of Erskine, which the seller listed as part of a 1954 Team issue. When I contacted the seller he replied that at one time he had multiple sets, which came in an envelope with ten players: Erskine, Newcombe, Snider, Robinson, Amoros, Hodges, Podres, Reese, Cox, and Campy. The photos which I can find all appear to be from spring training, have the players name written in the same font, and the roster correlates to 1954. Can anyone confirm any of this information, or is familiar with this issue?

What's interesting is that the cataloged Brooklyn team issues start in 1940 and then abruptly stop after 1949 with a resulting five year gap before starting back up again in 1955 and continuing through to 1957.

The guidebooks are missing a lot of information regarding team issues and I believe some teams like the Dodgers and Yankees had multiple sources, sometimes in the same season. An area of the hobby ripe for research.
