Baseball player framed Cracker Jack prizes?

I’ve got two of these framed player photos on the way. Can anyone tell me about the set? Can you identify the players? I think one may be Early Wynn. Maybe Lou Boudreau on the second one?

They are not CJ prizes but rather charms that could be bought in gumball machines. Feller is the other player.

You will find an assortment of colors when it comes to the frames; players can be found in multiple colors. Different shapes, too (edited to add: I *think* there are different shapes.)

Thank you. I thought Feller might be another option, but I just wasn’t sure based on the image. Do you know when these were distributed?

Those are cool, I think. A bunch of them would make a nice display.

I think they’re cool as well. Inexpensive vintage items that I’m sure brought joy to some kid. I think they’ll display nicely with some labels below identifying the player.

I remember these things being asked about fairly often in the "Collector Q&A" section of Baseball Cards Magazine. At the time (35 years ago), the people answering the queries didn't have a clue as to what they were or who produced them. They simply speculated that they were purchased from gumball vending machines.

1950 Baseball Player Charms; would have come out of a Vending Machine in a "Plastic Bubble." Set has a couple different shapes, rectangle and octagon..

The 2011 edition of The Standard Catalog lists these as being 1947-52 charms, with the date being "conjectural, based on known player selection." This listing contains 24 players.

The two charms that I purchased arrived today. Imagine my surprise when I flipped over the Bob Feller charm and found the Babe staring me in the face!

We had Musial in 3 different colors a while back.

I am crappy at detecting online sarcasm, but in case that was genuine...

I will say I find it interesting that the ones mentioned above are double sided as our charms all had back panels on them. Wonder if we had removed those if there was another face waiting to be found?
