on ebay a Lot of 1953 Topps with the 1st Picture of Mantle but no mention of him in title ????
the giveaway is the different color on the back of Mantle verses every other single back , you have to scroll down all the last picture to find it

is this a deliberate hindsight because seller knows its a fake/ reprint. you decide, and he mentions at least one player in virtually all his other listings title mmmmm ,
check it out

Deliberate, thus would not go to authenticators as more than one card…

I told the seller I’m interested, but the Mantle is the only card that is bright colors, so possibly a reprint card, and will he please confirm the Mantle card is real. His response, “ I can’t confirm that … it isn’t graded or authenticated.”

The back of that Mantle card is what really gives it away as a reprint, and I'm glad you didn't fall for the eBay scoundrel's deceptive listing.

My opinion is deliberate.
Maybe he got duped and he is just paying it forward.

Maybe so. And as an aside, I am disappointed in eBay for no longer providing its users with a platform to file reports against listings that violate eBay's stated policies. They used to rely on the eBay community to police the site to some extent. Have you noticed that the "Report this listing" button is no longer there?

Rob,

I noticed it yesterday, when I wanted to report a few obvious auctions that were selling fakes. This seller is selling a reprint 1953 Topps Mickey Mantle autographed card. He sold it, didn't send the card (obviously), money refunded, negative feedback, and is now selling the same fake card again. Most viewers will see this, but better the seller be kicked off ebay. Yes, frustrating that ebay really doesn't even care
