Lew Lipset and Oldjudge.com

So I was looking to back track some information from one of Lew's old auctions and the site seem to be gone. Anyone know anything about this or a back way into seeing one of the auctions from 2010..

The answer for old web sites is often to use Archive.org and they indeed captured at least one version of oldjudge.com from late 2010. Note that links and images might not work as expected, since captures aren't complete site downloads. I clicked around the auction results and the text appears to be reliable.

(If this kind of archived data's financially useful to you, also a good reason to throw them some $$!)

Good site to know about, but isn't this what got all the Bruces' into such tizzy that they threatened to sue Archive?

The Wayback machine is always helpful. Here's a link to 2010 from Old Judge. You can click the link, top left corner titled "Captures" to see other archived dates.

I used to love Lew's auctions. Low-tech but great and everything always worked. I got these two cards, raw, from the Old Judge.

I loved Lew's auctions. He had some of the rarest cards in the hobby and I was happy to win a lot of them back in the day. He was kind of grumpy but was awesome in his own way. I hope he's doing ok....

These are plate examples from his encyclopedia..

Whilst they could be mildly amusing on occasion, always unintentionally, in the end their place in the hobby amounted to nothing more than a tale told by an idiot(s?), full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

An apt epitaph for the Dorkskind Group.

He was a lot of hot air with a few nice items. He sure tried to be above everyone else and didn't mind saying so. It takes all kinds. RIP Bruces
