Pictures Being Blocked on The Forum?
 

I have had 2 reports, today, of every day members being banned from uploading pictures to the forum. Can others let me know what is going on in this thread, so I can address it with the engineer, or otherwise find a fix? I am sure there is one. The good news is, I think we blocked those snarky Singaporian BOTs.

It even appears to be uploading undesirable images as well.

I’m not computer literate so this is gonna sound stupid ,
Before I post a pic I go to edit/straighten and make the frame as small as I can and take two fingers and make the image fit(shrink) inside that frame - Since I started doing that my pictures have worked

I also had no problem at all.

Uploading my last purschase - no issues - except my spelling

Sometimes my photos won’t load, but if I take a screenshot of the photo and crop it slightly, it will load then.

Having a different issue. Other people’s pictures in a thread won’t show… signed in as normal…

Leon, could it be related to the size of the pictures they're trying to upload? Maybe have them email you the pictures and see if you can upload them. That will help determine if it's something related to the pictures or the accounts.

For years Ive used the free version of Imgur to post images here. I use apple iPhone and Macbook, and couldn't figure out how to size the images to use the Net54 Albums Leon provides us. Always got the message that the image was to big. About a month ago, Imgur banned me for a violation of their rules, but I did nothing wrong. Tech support couldn't help me as they said a banned account could not be reinstated.

Im able to post images in the Net54 Albums now, here's what Ive been doing. When I scan a card it sends it to my desktop. From there I put the desktop image into email and send it to myself selecting Medium Image Size. Then I drag the images from the email back to the desktop, and upload that medium size image onto the Net54 album.

I just tried to load an image in a thread for the first time in a while and got a message from Cloudflare that I was blocked..

still happening to me....

I've loaded pics of cards for years and even recently for some cards that are on Buy/Sell/Trade right now...but you may be on to something. I usually scan my cards on my scanner at home and size them for PSA's registry and those are the images I use for posting here.

The card I recently tried to put on was pulled from the REA website, screenshot from my phone, I did resize it, but not from my computer...so maybe that is the issue???

When I get home next week I will try again using the way I usually do.

I just tried using a different pic that was done the way I usually crop pics and it loaded up just fine....maybe something to do with the screenshot.

I get that one sporadically. We'll be working on it.
Most members don't seem to be having the issue but a lot are. No Bueno

I am still getting reports of pictures being uploaded getting blocked. It's being worked on. But it seems like it's maybe 20%ish of our members. And that makes it a bit more difficult to pinpoint. In this thread, if you would, please let me know what OS and kind of device you are using when it happens? I have a feeling it's also across different platforms and OS's. It works fine for me LOL....

I was blocked from uploading pictures on my Apple MacBook then I tried on my Apple iPhone blocked there too.

Using the standard Microsoft PC OS photo software and Canon scanner, re-size so the pics aren't jumbo in the post. Never had a problem.

Yep, always have, no problems. Always save as a pdf, don’t know if that makes a difference.

Well, what do I know? I thought pdf's wouldn't work and only .jpg (overwhelmingly) and maybe a .gif or two, would work.

I have always had that problem. It depends on what device I am using on what pictures show up. Weirdly I have 2 Samsung phones and they differ in the pics they show sometimes. Luckily it is very rare I have to look at another device to see a pic I know should be there.:)

I've had that happen to me in the past. I could never see a pattern to it, but usually had it happen on my laptop, but the same pictures would show ok on my phone. I still see this behavior at times.

That’s happened to me when the connection is slow.

Mine was PC/Windows 11 and using the 'Insert Image' icon in the message panel.

Ive been having troubles posting pictures from my Apple IMac laptop and iPhone too. Ive always posted from my "Albums" page here on Net 54 (I select "Welcome LuckyLarry" from the upper right which takes me to my profile page where my "albums" are) and I upload the pictures there. There is an Upload button, then after the picture is in my album, I copy the URL and insert that into my message.

I just talked to Leon on the phone and he walked me through another way to post pictures right from my computer using the "Additional Options" box right below this Reply to thread box.
