New to the Forums!

Hello there (Ladies?) And Gents. Let me begin by thanking you for allowing me to be here! Seems to be a really great forum so far. So, a little bit about myself. I'm just back into collecting earlier this year, after being out of the hobby (other than buying a t206 at a random yard sale about 12 years ago) for about 35 years. As a teen, I collected my fair share of junk wax in the mid 80s through 1990, but I was the kid in my smallish Utah town that was known to collect the older stuff. And the older the better! I had seen pictures of tobacco cards, but had never seen one up close and in person The oldest card I had managed to obtain was a 1954 Bowman Nellie Fox, until one visit to Denver as I was about to turn 15, we passed a card shop after which I begged my parents to stop in. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw the Pre-War cards behind the glass case! I was about to have a birthday, so was able to negotiate a deal with my parents and they allowed me to spend maybe 100 dollars. I gladly picked up few t206, a Goudey, a few Playball, and an Old Judge tobacco. I was over the moon having finally scored my first tobacco cards! Fast forward six years and after being newly married and shortly after, a new child on the way -I hesitantly sold the cards, while never losing my love of them over all these years. I always maintained that I would eventually come back when the opportunity arose. Well, that never really came until I happened upon the Whatnot app earlier this year. I started out thinking "wow, I can pick up a handful of 50s and 60s stuff and call it good! Well, a month or so later and I was all in. Started picking up Mays, Aaron, Koufax, Clemente, Williams, Minoso, Whitey Ford and many other long lost favorites that I had longed to own as a youngster. And then came the Pre-War! I started picking up some Playball, Goudeys, T-cards, and even won an Old Judge as a buyer giveaway! Fast forward to today, and I have completely shifted my collecting into selling off my vintage 50s 60s etc and am now looking to narrow my focus into collecting the t206 Monster, and on a construction tradesman wages haha.. Some here may recognize me buying and selling in the vintage and Pre-War Facebook groups as of late. I've managed to meet some great people there so far, and am hoping to do the same here! I am currently at about the 100 mark, of the 524. And I've managed to pick up roughly12 or 13 HOFers now. Notables being a Tris Speaker, both Waddell versions, a Wajo HAC Old Mill (picked up in a well met trade), and Cobb bat off. Mostly lower grade raw, but absolute beautiful treasures to me! A few fun "side quests" ive started along the way are collecting all "Stadium backrounds", (have 15 of 28) and also the horizontals (have 4 of the 6). In general, im focused on picking up the best eye appeal cards I can at the best price! Raw is always prefered, but am always open to a slabbed graded card if it is a nice card for the price. Authentic trimmed, altered, min size, and color added are great candidates for low cost with eye appeal. While I love all the different off/tough backs, the current prices of late are a huge deterrent but I will pick them up when possible. Also am gladly picking up beaters when the general aesthetics of the card aren't necessarily the draw.
Well, I suppose that brings us up to date! Other than I should also note that I do this all for fun, and whether buying or selling i do strive for honesty, transparency, and fairness. If i see that you're here flipping, and generally here trying to make a buck- I won't likely bother doing business with you..Otherwise, lets GO!! Also, where on here can I post ISO items, or lists!? TIA!;)
