Beckett Grading

I recently bought 4 Beckett graded cards from a reputable auction house. I checked the authentication number after(stupid I know) receiving them. They have a 10 didget number with no letter in the beginning. I see many others out there like this but when I go to see if it is authentic it comes up as not found. I did some research but it was all ambiguous, reached out to Beckett with no response. Any thoughts on this??

Yes, this is an historical problem with Beckett when they transitioned to a new tracking platform several years ago. There are many of us with the same problem. Do a search on net54 and will find a couple of threads where this is addressed in detail.

Rest easy, the cards are probably authentic - the problem rests with Beckett.

Their database (or parts of it) were accidentally deleted over the years.

For a Nation wide Data Base provider to go down without a recovery plan is just plain Dumb, Stupid, Ridiculous.

In my previous life - anyone/everyone who had anythin to do with this would have been fired on the spot.

Older Upper Deck authenticated items have the same issue. The collector has to send a picture of the item and sticker to UD to get the item added back to the database that it should have been in the first place.

Anyone know if Beckett has a minimum grade option when doing a crossover?

They have two different databases for cert vertifications - one for cards and one for autographs.

Since you mentioned not having a letter at the beginning (which no graded cards do - only autographs), you might be trying to use the autograph one.

The one for cards is - https://www.beckett.com/grading/card-lookup

Me too! I sent multiple emails to them with photos, stating the cert number has the wrong player in the database, they said they will update it, but years later, my item still hasnt been updated. Horrible customer service! (I now double check every Beckett certification (and as a result of this, PSA and JSA as well) before buying. Im finding that by doing this, I see that there is a lot of PSA, Beckett and JSA certs that come up with nothing in the database. When I see this, I pass on buying that item! (Probably has saved me a lot of headaches in the future when I go to sell)
