Did you ever
Wake up in the am and be really really thankful you lost something due to a late higher bid? Last night was one of those nights. Bidders remorse. Put a bid down yesterday and as soon as I did it I was filled with regret. It just wasn't worth that. And I didn't need it that bad. Better ways I couold have used that money. So relieved when I woke up and someone went one tick higher. Thank you kind sir. I live to fight another day.

Agreed. Had that relieving experience more than a few times. Not always, but sometimes shill bidding has a good result.

Hasn't happened to me just yet.
There have been a few where I probably overpaid, no doubt, so I guess that's a similar situation, just with the twist that I refused to let someone bail me out because I kept raising my bid. |
Yeah, it's happened to me a few times over the years. Pretty good feeling when you get outbid on something that you kinda regret bidding on.
I tend to be an aggressive bidder, and sometimes get a little ahead of myself. :D |
Many, many times.

bid
yes, also..many many times ! LOL
|
Definitely. Although I've gotten better about just having a max and just sticking to it (or close to it).
|
Yes, although I have also had this happen several times: won an item, thought I overpaid and had buyer's remorse for weeks or even months only for the item to appreciate in value so dramatically that the purchase appeared shrewd.

My fat fingers on the EBay app have caused me to win a few items lately for more than I’m comfortable paying I’m ashamed to say. Luckily none of them bit me too hard in the ass.
Last one was a $2845 bid for an item I meant to bid $28.45 for. That was a tough 20 minutes to sweat out before I won it for 55 and change. Never had that issue on a desktop or if I remember to put a snipe in off EBay, but that app is gonna be the end of me someday if I don’t figure my sh&t out. |

Cards are like women.
The more attractive other men find them, the more expensive they suddenly become. |

I have had similar winning experiences, but usually the card(s) auction wins take a year or multiple years for me to get those lofty feelings about how clever I am when it comes to hobby purchases. Brian |

Brian (I'm quite often a MIB - Most Influential Bidder). Below is a card, currently still owned (I believe) by another Net54 member, that I proudly wear the MIB moniker as the result of my bidding superpower 15 or more years ago. |
