Which Greenberg?

This might be a good test of the extent which "Buy the Card; Not the Grade" exists in the real world. Both cards are offered by the same seller, so that variable should not be a factor.

Two-part question....

1. Which Greenberg will sell for more?
2. Which Greenberg would you rather have (if neither one was slabbed?)

Card "A"...

Card "B"...

I have an idea how this will play out, but am curious to see what others say...

Thanks!

I prefer card "B". Much better front presentation. Does have staining on the back. Tough as everyone has different preferences.

Card B For Me - Better Centering, Nice Wear / Staining - could probably get it and another nice card for the cost of Card A

The comparison really reflects the period in which they were graded.

DeanH3 09-23-2025 05:07 PM

I’d take the SGC 3 and save the difference.

chalupacollects 09-23-2025 05:17 PM

The 5 seems to have better registration but the 3 presents better… probably go the three route

A will sell for more. If you are offering to give me one, I will take A please.

The corners are sharp, the colors are brighter and the surface is cleaner.

I'm with Al on this one. To me, A is a much nicer card.

You're welcome.

I'd rather have B all day, every day. My guess is that A will sell for more, but probably not THAT much more.

Brian 09-23-2025 08:12 PM

I'd take the 3 and spend the difference on another card......

puckpaul 09-23-2025 09:49 PM

I think A is a much better card. Only thing B has is centering better. But otherwise A presents way better, much sharper. No back staining problem. Corners way better.

Buy the card everyday…B it is!

bk400 09-24-2025 06:29 AM

B

Zach Wheat 09-24-2025 10:37 AM

I almost always prefer sharper corners. I prefer A due to the corners and no staining on the reverse even if it is an older style SGC case. A will sell for a little bit more than B.

rhettyeakley 09-24-2025 11:34 AM

Centering obviously better on B but I like the image on A better.

I would prefer A.

shoreball51 09-24-2025 01:31 PM

Crispness over centering is how I view this, not the grade. A is my pick.

Beercan collector 09-24-2025 02:11 PM

B - like the vertical borders more on B

calvindog 09-24-2025 04:25 PM

A is a sharper card. The image is much superior.

BearBailey 09-24-2025 06:22 PM

A for me as well, sharper image and corners.

Zan 09-25-2025 07:57 AM

Color on these is a real kicker for me. A is my pick regardless of centering

Yoda 09-25-2025 09:39 AM

I'd buy them both.

I would rather have card B. It looks more attractive imo. Card A will & should sell for more because of the grade (how much more I can’t answer that) but you need to factor in the old label and standards “BS”

MR RAREBACK 09-25-2025 11:36 AM

Card B,
But I like his error card better spelled with U
card A will sell higher
