Backward Printing on 1934 Maranville Card

I was going through my Boston Braves folder this morning to remind myself of what I had collected over the years( yes, sometimes we forget) as I’m looking for more Maranville cards. Something told me I already had a raw 1934 Batter Up, if yes, I had bought it years ago. Sure enough, I had one, but I had forgotten the backward printing on the card. His name backward with two “T’s” on Rabbit. You can easily tell it’s been written with the old ink cartridge pen. I’ve never seen another card with the name written backward by someone. Thought I’d share this weirdness this am.

Maybe written by a collector who fancied themselves as a modern Da Vinci and wanted to write backwards to mimic his writing style?

Please be patient whilst I look for a mirror.

That's kind of interesting.

It really is Leon. Rabbit was quite the prankster from what I read , thought he may have done it,but he didn’t spell rabbit with two T’s. By the handwriting and type of ink, the writing definitely is of the time period.

Unironically could be to look at in a mirror, the 1934 BU images mirror perfectly.

Thanks for sharing, Mike -- what a fun card!

I like to think Rabbit handed them out as promos for his podcast, "Only redruMs in the krapllaB".
