2025 MLB Playoffs!

So which teams would you like to see meeting up in the League Championships?

I'd like to see the Toronto Blue Jays playing the Detroit Tigers in the AL and the Philadelphia Phillies playing the Chicago Cubs in the NL.

:)

Peter_Spaeth 10-03-2025 05:04 PM

Red Sox out. Anyone but the Yankees.

bk400 10-03-2025 05:41 PM

With the Mets and Guardians out, I'm rooting for the most compelling WS.

Bring on Dodgers - Yankees, Part Deux.

(Yankees -- Phillies would also be a rock fight.)

Cliff Bowman 10-03-2025 06:03 PM

Brewers/Cubs vs Mariners. I believe the Mariners are the only organization to have not gone to the World Series, the Brewers have only gone once and haven't won one. Whoops, I jumped the gun, the question was asking about the League Championship Series, but I'll stick with my World Series hopefuls.

egri 10-03-2025 07:25 PM

Since it can't be the Red Sox, and we've still got the Divisional round to go, I hope the Yankees will be eliminated by then, but if they make it to the LCS, someone who can beat them there. I'd like to see the Tigers make a run. In the National League, Phillies/Cubs.

Aquarian Sports Cards 10-03-2025 08:41 PM

C'mon Yankee haters, wouldn't it be more satisfying to see them trounced by the Dodgers in 4 games instead of 5???

Casey2296 10-03-2025 08:53 PM

Since my Giants couldn’t get the job done down the stretch.
My friends son who came up through our little league is throwing relief for Milwaukee so I’m going with the Brewers and I’d like to see the Tigers on the other side.

BobbyStrawberry 10-03-2025 09:14 PM

All of the remaining teams I either dislike (Yankees, Dodgers, Phillies) or am totally neutral on (Jays, Tigers, Mariners, Cubs, Brewers), so I'll just make my predictions:

Tigers vs Yankees
Dodgers vs Cubs

No. I don't even want to see the Yankees in any World Series.

:(

58pinson 10-04-2025 10:45 AM

Absolutely any team but the Yankees! Although if they do advance I can always hope they'll be eliminated in the most heartbreaking fashion possible (ala the Maz home run in 1960).

nebboy 10-04-2025 11:30 AM

Go CUBs - playoffs are set up this year for some GOOD games. All us true baseball fans should be well entertained no matter what.

No. The earlier they exit the more satisfying.

You're failing to take into account the Yankee fan heartbreak factor. C'mon Yankee fan schadenfreude is awesome, is almost as good as your team winning! (of course both things together is the best)

D. Bergin 10-04-2025 02:22 PM

I’m fully expecting a Yankees vs. Yankees no Subway needed Series in the Bronx, New York, for all the marbles!

Yankees win it in a dramatic 7th Game when Aaron Judge hits a walk off 22nd inning HR off of emergency reliever…Aaron Judge, that some how doesn’t fall out of the sky until it reaches Shea Stadium.

In the celebration following the game Aaron Judge gets into a fistfight with Aaron Judge and within the commotion of the mayhem they meld into a single Aaron Judge. Omnipotent, All-knowing, All-seeing and even able to hit a slider and catch routine fly balls come playoff season.

;)

The Dodgers too.

BobbyStrawberry 10-04-2025 04:35 PM

Yankees getting crushed! You love to see it.

bk400 10-04-2025 05:19 PM

Ouch. That's a wake up call. Reverse billboard material for Aaron Boone.

Give Boone the opportunity to say something dumb and he'll take it every time.

BobbyStrawberry 10-04-2025 09:20 PM

Sasaki is a pretty disgusting closer.

bk400 10-05-2025 01:03 AM

If you're the Phillies, it must be demoralizing when Ohtani gets tagged for 3 runs in the second inning and strikes out 4 times -- and you still lose.

bk400 10-05-2025 01:03 AM

[duplicate]

BobbyStrawberry 10-05-2025 03:47 PM

Epic beatdown in Toronto. Boone will be shown the door shortly if they lose the next game.

I hope you’re right about Boone. It’s time for him to go!

jayshum 10-06-2025 06:43 AM

Yankees fans are bailing on their team. My friend just bought 2 tickets for Game 3 in the upper level behind home plate on SeatGeek for $95 a piece. Hard to believe you can get into a playoff game in New York that cheap.

Balticfox 10-06-2025 09:35 AM

Much as I dislike the Yankees, they can't be counted out yet. They're very capable of winning on any given day.

But today I'm hoping that both the Phillies and the Cubs even up their respective series.

:)

Yankees fans and their kindred brethren Phillies fans are the best and the worst at the same time

Interesting comment coming from the Mets fan who gave up on Juan Soto 2 months into a 15 year contract.

Some of us Mets fans are the same. Although I think we are generally more benign than the Neanderthals in the Bronx (and at Vet -- I've never been to a game at Citizens Bank).

bk400 10-06-2025 07:06 PM

Dodgers bullpen. Definitely good for ratings.

Why in the world wasn't Sasaki in to start the 9th?

bk400 10-06-2025 07:17 PM

How many people would have predicted that the Dodgers would walk into Philly and win two in a row?

BobbyStrawberry 10-06-2025 08:08 PM

Roberts did everything he could to blow this game but they held on. I don't see Philly winning three straight.

It's brutal when you have to beat a good Phillies team AND your own freakin' manager.

Snapolit1 10-07-2025 05:22 PM

Last night. . . . ending of the Dodgers-Phillies game . . . . and then ending of the Monday Night Football game. Brain fried. Wild.

I am the one Met fan out of a million who doesn't hate Bryce Harper. Chances of Pete Alonso making that final play? Yeah, maybe 1 in 1,000.

Lol. And the Dodgers have enough talent that they can actually do it!

BobbyStrawberry 10-07-2025 06:19 PM

Rodon doing Rodon things already.

Nick Castellanos on Phillies fans. The man has stones, I'll grant him that.

ClementeFanOh 10-08-2025 02:52 AM

MLB Playoffs

bk400- yeah, that won't age well. Guess he forgot he's a major league player.
I don't even like LA and I hope they beat Philly. Trent King

"...like if you do something bad, you’re going to get a negative response."

Imagine that Nick, I believe that's called "life"

bk400 10-08-2025 06:50 AM

I don't really care that much either way, just looking for good baseball, but I think the Yankees are going to take it in 5. The Blue Jays really snatched defeat from the jaws of victory last night, and Yankee Stadium is going to be rocking for Game 4. If it gets back to Toronto, the collars will be tight in the Jays dugout.

Balticfox 10-08-2025 09:10 AM

I'm really unhappy with the way the last four games on Monday and Tuesday went.

:(

jayshum 10-08-2025 04:09 PM

Tigers force game 5 with Skubal ready to start. Probably not what Seattle wanted, but at least they're at home for the game.

BobbyStrawberry 10-08-2025 04:23 PM

I wouldn't want to face Skubie in an elimination game, especially considering that he hasn't even pitched to his regular season level yet this postseason.

BobbyStrawberry 10-08-2025 08:38 PM

Well Yankee fans, in the words of Michael Kay:

"See ya!"

bk400 10-08-2025 09:32 PM

Playoff Kershaw strikes again. I feel bad for him. Why would Dave Roberts bring him back out for the 8th?

Roberts will NEVER learn that Clayton Kershaw and the post season do not mix. This has happened so many times one cannot even recall them all. 6 hits and 3 walks in two innings. They should have done this man a favor and left him off the roster and forced him to quit with dignity. It is truly painful.

To burn innings and save their arms to fight another day.

It was a two run game, that makes no sense.

I suppose that makes sense if Dave was throwing in the towel after being down only 2 runs with Playoff Mookie, Teoscar Hernandez and Playoff Freddie due up in the bottom of the inning.

jayshum 10-08-2025 10:05 PM

Phillies and Cubs stay alive but still have rough roads ahead.
