Shipping sets in albums

If this post shouldn't appear here, please forgive me.

I am considering selling off a few dozen sets and am wondering about peoples' preferred manner of shipping large, 700-ish sets in binders.

Years back I shipped a number of sets in albums and I used the USPS flat rate large box but the shipping costs for that have gone up a lot since then, and I wonder whether it isn't cheaper to go the old fashioned route of paying postage.

Any ideas appreciated. Thanks!

Non-flat rates have gone up a lot also. Do a sample comparison on USPS site.

One more question - is it any easier/cheaper/better to ship sets in albums or in boxes?

Take the pages out of the binder when you ship (or put a buffer between the rings and the pages) - I always ask for people to just toss the binder and ship me the pages.

Probably about the same price / effort for either, assuming you have an appropriately sized shipping box.

Plastic wrap and card board do wonders when shipping pages!

I had a really nice bcb binder the buyer wanted me to include with a ted Williams fleer set. I opened it up and wrapped the pages over the top of them all with plastic wrap a few times securely. He said it arrived immaculate.

Another vote for plastic wrap
