Here's one...

Some people color outside the lines, some people cut inside the lines!

Just enough border to snag a 1.5 rather being miscut. The border that is present is specks of ink in some areas. The surface is in surprisingly great condition considering the abomination of condition of the rest of the card...

Got these earlier in the year that I found interesting. Both the 1938 Teofani Past & Present cards and the 1940 British American Tobacco Then and Now sets used the same images on the fronts and the same writeups on the back. The main differences were in the titles of the sets and the advertising at back/bottom.
These handcuts have both sets of back on them. And for those of you looking for baseball instead, here's a handcut 'jumbo E91 American Caramel. |

I kinda feel like strip cards are cheating, but haven't got any pictures of anything else on hand at the moment.

This is the only "scrap" hand cut E98 I've ever seen.

Sick card, Jeff!

Not a miscut but certainly a sloppy rip back in the day.

Another slight miscut here. E90-1 Groom with his neighbor peeking in a little.

This card features Bob Meusel in the background.

Some really great cards in this thread. Thanks for sharing, guys. I would give a shout out but it's to everyone so far.
This robbed part of another cards borders...Somewhere there are small bordered, factory cut, E90-1s.. |

I sure wish this card was miscut on the back, instead of the front!

1940 Playball "Shootters"
2 Attachment(s)
This is a pair of 1940 Playballs that my Dad used as shooters. He and his Schoolmates would play a game like pitching pennies. You stood behind a line and tossed or shot your card toward a wall and whoever was closest won the cards. If you tossed a leaner you would win 2 cards. He trimmed these down to make it easier to grip the card. He grew up poor but had a nice card collection including a complete set of 1941 Playballs. So he must've been pretty good.
The second photo is the basic grip he showed me. We played around with these and a couple other beat up 39 / 40 playballs. 2 of My Favorite cards. |

Hand cut you say.

Popping in here with a just-post-war Japanese card(s).
JCM 50: 1949 Red Border S.F. Seals Tour But clearly the kid wanted a round menko instead of a rectangular menko. Top left is Gene Brocker, top right is/was hall-of-famer Victor Starffin, bottom left is Arky Vaughan, bottom right is Michio Nishizawa https://i.ibb.co/BKYpQPs7/round.jpg |
Great cards

A few more to share...
The Jack Hoxie strip isn't sports but it's a nice hand cut rounded corner example. The Tinker is from an uncatalogued set that is commonly miscut. And the Fulton is a nice top/bottom miscut example. . |

I still can't believe that this one is actually labeled as "Auth - Miscut", but it's the gem of my small collection.

My go-to scan from my go-to set for threads with topics like this one, and a couple additional less frequently seen (at least not from me) 'not-so-parallelogram' 1941 Goudey cards

All one needs is a steady hand and an unwavering attention to detail to achieve such hand cut D311 greatness.

That Bowerman is a solid 2.5...I'd probably hang on to it. With Cy and 3-Finger? Good Lord...where did you find that, if you don't mind me asking?

i have the 24 card set of these all hand cut from the sheets that exist, i guess. They all have great color and look super, always thought they looked more vibrant than the regular set.
In Heritage, there was a Mint 9 Ted Williams because it was well hand-trimmed. So is it acceptable to continue to cut these to make them look more “Mintish”? What do you think? Or did it have to be cut before a certain date? I could certainly make the sides straighter and the corners sharper. No creases. Seems silly….is there a minimum size based on the regular set? |

Like the Bender shown previously, the T201 Double Folder set is a great one for miscuts. Here is an angular miscut version, along with a mysteriously cut narrow and off-center one.

The back scan is right. They are actually upside down on the cards.

Sorry about the scan quality here. I scanned it a long time ago and never updated it when I got a better scanner or better phone to take pics. Not only is it upside down and parts of two backs, it's the wrong back for this card. They made a lot of mistakes here.

I forgot I had these...they're actually going to be in Goldin's Elite Vintage Auction after the Holidays.
