$1.15 million Old Mill Joe Jackson … on Facebook

I’ve seen some pretty big cards change hands on Net54, but to see this card pop up on a Facebook group is NUTS.

What a card — IMO it’s the most badass pose in the hobby.

mrdbrooks77 10-16-2025 04:01 PM

Seller is amazing. No worries with him.

He gets big time cards but this one is crazy. Biggest one man seller in the hobby.

bandrus1 10-16-2025 04:34 PM

Ash is a very good guy

This is a monster monster card and it's beautiful

sb1 10-16-2025 04:36 PM

Can't believe how many times I was an underbidder on one of these back in the early 2000's at 10k or 10,500 and never could win one. I guess I should have bid one more time :(

Brent G. 10-16-2025 04:37 PM

Ah OK, is this the Ash who was robbed at a show last year? I do recall seeing that name shortly after I joined here.

Once I realized it was a 6-figure card a few years later I threw in the towel on the T210 set when I was down to Jackson and the last few...

Yes, he was the one robbed in Dallas.

refz 10-16-2025 05:22 PM

I wonder who he is brokering it for

I sold Ash many cards about two years ago. Yes he is a very good guy.

I have bought and sold Ash cards. He just did a 1.1MM 52 Mantle as well.

I’m trying to recall, did someone on net54 own this card before?

.

Zero selling costs seems like a nice incentive, particularly if you can manage to find a buyer at your desired price with this channel.

maniac_73 10-16-2025 08:55 PM

Ash is legit. He always uses that Fb group for big money cards

I don’t think I’d seen a card over $10,000 on there — it was eye-popping.

Johnny630 10-17-2025 04:44 AM

Cash and trade baby. I think that card last sold for a little over a half million 4 or 5 years ago in one of the big auctions at Heritage or REA.

That is correct. It sold for $540,000 in August of 2021 in a Heritage auction.

jchcollins 10-17-2025 06:54 AM

I have both sold to and bought from Ash - great guy. Never any issues. I got my grail '54 Banks (centered!) from him at the '24 National in Cleveland for a great deal. :)

I see 10k cards listed daily on Facebook, most are inventory for the new age dealers who pay market and then try to mark it up from there.

samosa4u 10-17-2025 11:40 AM

What I don't understand is that he had approx 2M worth of stuff stolen from him and it didn't slow him down one bit. Any other person would be completely destroyed after experiencing something like that.

Yoda 10-17-2025 11:41 AM

Asking price seems a bit low for a JJ RC in very nice shape. If a buyer steps forward and flips it to, say, to REA, I smell a nice profit, including a share of the BP.

He either has his own money, access to it and/or he got paid off by the insurance co for the theft.

Anyone who can carry $1M+ in a single piece, which is just one small part of a large inventory must have pretty serious resources at his disposal.

Yoda 10-17-2025 12:46 PM

A good example of the wealth inequality in the country at the moment.

Likely some of both.

He still had a vast inventory that was not stolen in Dallas. But, indeed he lost a lot of his better cards.

I'm sure he was compensated for some of the loss if not all depending on his policy. There may have been a cap but he did have insurance.

He never fell out of the buying/selling mode after the theft. He was still doing shows every time a major one was happening. I was set up beside his son in Boston just a few months after the theft in November of 2024 and he had a vast inventory there and Ash was at another Dallas show the same weekend with additional inventory.

He is a really nice guy who has a network of buyers and sellers. And, he hustles to buy and pays fairly but obviously below the top of the market.

Sellers go to him because he probably pays more than most high end dealers and it makes no difference if he has 5 other examples of the same card as long as the price is right to buy. He may have multiple 1952 Topps Mantles in various grades at the same time.

mannequin1 10-17-2025 03:06 PM

Who's bigger

Ash or 707 Sportscards?

Kutcher55 10-17-2025 03:13 PM

I did a small deal with Ash a few years ago and have witnessed his emergence as this major player on FB and elsewhere. He came off as a humble guy who does things the right way. A total cardhog to be sure lol, but I say that with admiration. I can't imagine what it must be like swinging giant deals like that on the regs. You need to have a certain mentality for that, patience, and balls. Not for everyone.

bnorth 10-17-2025 03:21 PM

Now that is a card I would trade the majority of my collection for. It would have to be a beater but for me the T210 Jackson is a dream card. I do have a nice "replica" in my T210 collection.:)

Kutcher55 10-17-2025 03:41 PM

Indeed it is a cool card and while I don't understand why he is wearing a triple breasted jacket and what that has to do with baseball, it was a different time back then. Great image. Ben, the fact that you would trade only most of your collection suggests that you must have a pretty good collection.

$1m cards are rare to see anywhere.

$10k is common place on a lot of facebook card groups. Vintage or modern. It’s wild.

Don’t know why but every time I see it I think Civil War soldier,
Still love the card though

That’s what makes the thing so damn cool — he could be headed to the ballpark or Antietam.

707 is a mere shell than what it used to be. Maybe wrong but that’s how it seems to me. I’ll be straight up I don’t care for either seller but I’d rather deal with Ash than Levi any day.

I’ve dealt with both and have no issues with either. Levi delivered a 48 Leaf Jackie to my work during the pandemic so that will always be a fun story to go with that card.

Both are tops IMO.

Levi no longer has a showcase of 50 or so 1952 Topps Mantles in various grades as he did at one time many years ago but he still has an amazing inventory that he brings out for the National every year.

Rhotchkiss 10-18-2025 04:58 PM

I saw the card today in person at the Chantilly show. I pity the fool who sold it.:p

A good example of the wealth inequality in the country at the moment.

That's what makes America great. I'm grateful we aren't a Socialist country.

Yep. All those socialist countries have just been doing it wrong, which is why it's always worked out so great.

Market top achieved.

Amazing the come back kid after millions in his cards stolen.

I dont recall seeing anything like it.

4 days to go.

Still at “just” $3.477M, with the juice.

He runs huge breaks/raffles on Facebook and is making an absolute fortune from them. It’s quite genius. I’ve done the rough math on a few and I am almost certain he is clearing 50-250k+ profit, easily, on some of them.

Good for him. Clearly the sheep are demanding to be sheared, and he should absolutely oblige them.

Duhhhhhh….socialism.
Duhhhhh….socialism.

That’s you, btw.

No one was comparing capitalism to socialism, just the statement that wealth inequality makes a country great. I’ll put you down for duh+1 on that.
