Auction House Shipping time

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask what everyone's experience has been with shipping time at auction houses. You would hope with a 20%+ premium shipping would be better than the guy with 17 feedback on ebay! In my experience both REA and Heritage both took about 2 weeks from payment to shipping. I'm at a week with two smaller auction houses now.

I've paid REA through Zelle and my items have shipped either that day or the next day. Collector Connection has shipped within a day or two after payment through PayPal.

I think a lot of us that have been doing this for some decades don't really care if we get the card in 1 day or 3 weeks. I don't.
I only remember 1 time (there might have been another time or two, in thousands of shipments) asking for something to be shipped quicker as it was some hobby peridocals for research.

Back when I was an auction buyer REA was always to me super fast (of course I'm only about 50 miles away)

People seem to confuse factors that are and are not in the auction company's control. If you send me a personal check it says right in our terms and conditions it will ship 5 business days after deposit (the amount of time our bank advised us to be sure it has cleared) That's a calendar week. If you're in California it may take 5 more business days to get to you. Then you put us on blast for taking two weeks to ship. when actually we shipped immediately upon the check clearing.

So did Heritage and REA really take two weeks to ship, or did it take two weeks to get to you? Two very different things.

REA has always been super fast for me when I have them ship. At one point, HA sent me stuff before I paid, but the last few years its been more like 3-4 weeks after payment is made before they ship. To follow on Scott's comment, each auction house has their own terms on how they handle payment/shipping. Some are more customer oriented than others, but there could also be other factors as well that could influence the speed of shipping (amount, method of payment, how known you are to the auction house, etc). A week to ship isn't really a long time.

Been using auction houses since the mid-90s, and 2 weeks has always been about standard. Most don't take PayPal or credit cards, so you just need to wait it out, for the reasons stated above. Those who accept Zelle are typically faster.

Most average two weeks. The last couple REA auctions seemed a bit quicker. A couple of outliers:

Sterling is always super fast. I can remember an auction that closed on Thursday, I paid online on Friday, and received my winnings on Monday.

Hakes is always super fast, not Sterling fast, but fairly quick. Less than a week.
