Any glove experts?

Hi...Looking for help with this glove. Can't find too many distinguishable markings. Looks like it has "Oil Treated" or "Oil Tempered" stamped on it. I'm guessing 1920s? It was a throw-in in a pennant lot I picked up so a little out of my wheelhouse. Any details or value thoughts?

Probably a late 1920s model... it's called a "Grommet Web Glove". Kind of a transitional style that bridges the gap between the early sewn-web gloves with the more recent laced web and tunnel loop styles.

It's not a super high-end model, as evidenced by the thin/cheaper piping on the reverse. Higher-end adult models would have a thicker rolled leather piping. This one is a mid-range model at best. The shredded inner lining also hurts the value a bit, as lots of collectors like the feel of a smooth liner on their hand. The hole in the index finger also detracts a bit. On the plus side, there is no ink writing and the exterior leather looks pretty good.

Gloves of this vintage are not rare, and the value of this one is probably in the $30 - $40 range. But it's a rather tough sell, as you'll see a bunch of others on eBay and elsewhere. Hope this is helpful.

Totally looks like “tempered” to me.

Thanks guys. I paid $40 for the lot, so works for me. :)

Hard to read the name or markings on it, most likely - leather was different in the 1920s - so my estimate is 1930s, but could be later 1920s as others have said, though as Mark says the webbing gives it away and helps data it! - 40.00 to pay is about right for something like this - Happy Collecting!

Here's a slightly nicer Grommet-Web example that sold on eBay. It's a higher end adult model, as evidenced by the quality leather and the thicker, more substantial piping around the wrist strap and finger opening on the back.

Experienced Seller is indeed saying "1920s", and was asking $99 but I'm guessing it actually sold somewhere in the $75 range. In addition to being a high-end model, the condition is better on this one, with no holes and a smoother inner lining. After clicking the link directly below, click on "See Original Listing"....
