Closing Tonight - Love of the Game Fall Premier Auction
Hi all:
Just a quick note to let you all know that tonight is the closing night of Love of the Game's Fall Premier Auction. Extended bidding begins at 9pm EST. A few items I thought I'd point out: • Two EXTREMELY rare Old Judges from 1890 - Cap Anson and Sliding Billy Hamilton. These cards are both just great, and sometimes I worry that the rarity of the 1890 Old Judges is misunderstood by folks that see cards like N172 Ansons frequently. • A rare complete set of 1923-24 Billiken Matanzas cards. The cards in the set are much more rare than regular Billiken cards, with some of these examples the only surviving ones known. • A nice 1936 World Wide Gum DiMaggio (RC), a very attractive midgrade example of a tough, tough card. We've got a host of N173s (including a couple of rare dark mounts), a large 19th Century collection, a great assortment of rare regional issues, and for those of you who get into postwar vintage, a large grouping of high-grade 1960 Topps baseball cards that are very affordable right now. Once again, good luck to all our bidders and consignors! -Al |
I had nice results on my Big heads
Most of the commons went about average The Ruth & Cobb did as I expected But the Hornsby killed it!!! Got more than what I was offering here- Looking forward to see if any made it to Net54 |
Looks like everything I bid on went for strong prices. I managed to pick up one piece. Probably overpaid. Don’t really care.:)
