Hmmm...do these cards look familiar?

Posted By: Tim S.

These 4 cards were purchased by a board member along with two others in the November 2003 Lipset auction ungraded (lot #192). I purchased them later down the road, graded in a Mastro auction. The link to the cards (raw) from the November 2003 auction is below. A link to the current Lipset auction (lot #145)is below that. Now tell me these cards don't look familiar!

http://www.oldjudge.com/lewlipset/archive/2003_november/page_cat1670_sub2111.html
(Lot #192)

http://www.oldjudge.com/lewlipset/page_lot_large.cfm?lot=145&ab=&img=Lot%20145%20L
.jpg&auction=3675 (Lot #145)
Posted By: Howie
The point I believe he's trying to make is that Lew sold these cards raw and graded them NM. They all came back graded NM except for one, and that one graded 7.5. This would make Lew an excellent grader.

Posted By: Robert
Even the blind get lucky once in awhile and Lew is not a good grader. I have proof positive in 7 other lots that I won in his auctions that all came back 1 or 2 grades less then he stated. Maybe it's because the lots I won where 40's and 50's cards and he did not care to really look at them.

Posted By: Gilbert Maines
There is only so many '40s and '50s cards you can look at in a lifetime, after that point, your eyes can no longer focus on them.

I hope the same ain't true for blondes.
