Posted By: Scot Reader
Matt,

My e-book has a front/back checklist that updates Bill Heitman's. You can download it at:

http://www.t206museum.com/page/tools.html

Bill Brown, who frequents this board, also has an Excel spreadsheet with all of the front/back combinations. Bill and I have worked together to update it regularly as new information on front/back combinations comes to light. If you search for a thread on the T206 Superset started by Bill a while back you will be able to get Bill's email address.

Scot

Posted By: Scot Reader

Thanks, Michael. Bill H.'s book was a watershed, but with T206 there is always more to learn. Even though my own effort is only a year old, there are already a couple of (relatively minor)changes I would make based on new information. For example: 1) There are a few subjects that I identified as "possible" 150-onlys that have since been revealed with 350 backs; 2) Some information has developed on the Kleinow and Smith variations that would have caused me to classify them differently than I did. This information only came to light because of Net54 contributors (Ted Z. Jamie H, Brian W. etc. etc.). Someday I would like to compile all the information on this board into a new encyclopedia of vintage baseball cards. Lew Lipset did a magnificent job with his encyclopedia--but also like Bill H., Lew's effort is a generation old.
Scot

Posted By: Matt
Scot,

Thanks for the info. I already found and read your e-book numerous times. In fact it was one of the reasons I got back into collecting after my decade long lay-off for (insert multiple reasons here).

I realize The Monster has been updated, I just want one to go along with my collection, and think it can impart some nuggets of information I've missed.

Thanks again.
Posted By: Scot Reader

Matt,
Part of the reason I wrote the e-book was to reignite interest in T206 among 20-40-somethings (such as myself) who left the hobby in the '80s and '90s for other pursuits. I am gratified to have helped spur you to return to the hobby. I only returned in 2003 after a 15-year layoff.
Scot
