Live Auction: What are the Chances These are Real?

Posted By: Iggy
Setting aside that this auction has plenty of red flags to scrace-off a raging bull. You look at the bidders on this lot and they are not ebay novices. Ultimately, proving that we can all fall for a scam and sending a clear signal to ebay con artists. Of course, I feel bad for whoever wins this lot.

Just as an FYI: I had emailed the seller earlier in the day (on the T205 lot) and surprise, surprise he couldn't guarantee authenticity because they were his grandfather's cards, but he did remember the cards being in a scrapbook. But if you look at the back damage, they do not remotely look like they were pulled from a scrapbook. Sometimes you can take a chance on ebay and score some nice cards but on auctions like this, send plenty of questions to the seller. If something doesn't add-up (like the back damge), then move on. The next ebay bargain is coming around the corner.

-Lovely Day, Iggy...

Live Auction: What are the Chances These are Real?

Posted By: Iggy
I emailed the winner of this lot and voice my concerns. His response was basically that he has a day or so to ask the seller some questions and he is aware that they could be reprints. He was cordial about it, but oh well, "caveat emptor!" I guess a T206 Wagner on the resume is not a bad thing...

-Lovely Day, Iggy...
