Any T-207 Set Builders?
 

Posted By: <b>Bill</b><p>I don't know why, but I'm drawn to this set. Strange look to the cards, not too many big names, and a decent number of cards not easy to come by. For all the builders of this set, or those who tried, what card was the thorn in your side to get ahold of? I've read articles on the set and feel I know it fairly well. Some people can pop up at the right time and find the hard to locate cards. Which was the most difficult for you and what is your favorite card in the set?<br><br>Change your socks, drink water, and drive on.

Posted By: <b>Bob</b><p>Depending on who you talk to, Donlin, Pelty, Ward Miller or Downey may be the toughest card in the set. Ellis is a sneaky tough card among the commons. Another one rarely mentioned but tough to find and almost impossible to find in high grade is the Recruit back Bobby Wallace.<br />I love the 207s. If you can find one in high grade with a Cycle red back, ah, there isn't a card which can compare <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14>

I'm a little over halfway done and I still need about 30 of those 80, so I don't plan on finishing anytime this decade. Lefty George is another sleeper IMO. <br /><br />In regards to high grade t207's: There are none(graded).<br /><br />SGC has NEVER graded a NM/MT card. Not one out of over 3, 500 cards on their population report. In fact, they have only graded 31 cards SGC 84 or higher. That is laughable. PSA has graded 24 NM/MT cards out of about 2,500 on their pop report. The also have 1 PSA 9 graded(I'd like to see it), and 129 PSA 7's. <br />Weird. SGC only has 135 SGC 80's total. PSA has graded over 400 6's and they have 1, 000 fewer cards in their system. Can anyone explain this? I know SGC is tough but... <br /><br />

Posted By: <b>Richard Masson</b><p>Among the 120 easier cards, I have had trouble finding a high grade well-centered Tinker. I quit smoking and am starting to eat right because my only chance to get a Lewis no emblem is to outive Brockelman. Any Lewis is far tougher than Lowdermilk.

The variance in difficulty between some of the recruits is incredible. <br /><br />I'm not very bright and I sold a Donlin several years ago before I knew anything about the set. <br /><br />Tim and Bob's article(s) sucked me in initially and I've been hooked for a while now. I have over 160 cards, but 15 or so are dupes and it will be several eons before I complete it if ever.<br /><br />It's hard to compete with so many for so few cards. <br /><br /><br />John,<br /><br />Nice cards in great shape!
