If you type "Shigley" into a search, you'll find some threads. Also, I typed his name into a Yahoo search a long time ago and came up with some hits. Evidently, the guy had been collecting even before the days of Carter, Nagy and Burdick.

Posted By: Ted
Not sure how I found out, but I have had him on my favorite sellers list for a year or so. Seems legit, and I have heard the same stories as mentioned in the post with regards to a Carter type collector. FWIW I think anyone who wanted this card, and knwos the seller would have missed this in their ebay search or sellers list...dont feel bad for "outing it". BTW let me know if you see and Babe Ruth'e' auto's listed in the wrong catagory

Posted By: Matt
Marty - you didn't out anything. Aside from it being a featured auction in the pre-1930s category on ebay, there was a thread here a few months back letting us all know that the Wagner would be for sale on ebay shortly.

Posted By: brian
I had a snipe set higher than the winning bid thru Goofbay and it didn't go through for some reason. Looks like someone got this one dirt cheap. Wonder what a PSA 3 pastel Wagner would sell for? Shigleys grandson keeps leaving money on the table selling these raw.

Posted By: Matt
A 3 would sell for about $2000; I'm guessing this went for less due to the possibility that it won't make it into a 3 slab. If I still needed one, I certainly would have bid higher then the winning bid.
