We had lots of collectors in my Chicago neighborhood and none of us knew anything about minis until mid-summer when a kid brought some back from Michigan. Never saw any after that either.

I will post the others when I find them. Have you seen the 1976 Pete Rose variation? Sorry for the poor image. On the first card, Cincinnati is spelled wrong - there is an extra letter and the NL...

Great Memories of 1970s Purchases

During the 1970s I had three great avenues for purchasing old cards in Chicago and through the mail.
1. A flea market at the drive-in near 74th and California. There was a guy who must have been...

Kellogg's Packs

Even though the sequencing was not consistent in the 10 packs, patterns were seen in these packs. I had mostly packs with higher numbered cards on the front. The cards behind the front card didn't...

The Mattingly pictured is a 1990 Figure.

This figure is from 1990. The two cards with the yellow rookie card are standard for all three sports in 1990. Mattingly has two different figures in this set.

1971 Topps Baseball - Last Card

I gave up way too much in trade to complete my set. Getting the Billy Martin was great, but I never again traded anything decent for a manager card.
