I think they all could get in if they retired today. Additionally, Trout, Cano, Votto and Verlander are all 2-3 good years off being HOF locks IMO.

Mantle may not have been a big enough star in the '52 or '53 seasons. Bowman had him under contract for '54 and '55. He may have just been on a different contract in 52 and 53.
