Thinning out my Lou Gehrig collection a little and since this little gem does not technically picture Gehrig, I'm willing to let it go. It is a 1949 "Lou Gehrig: Pride of the Yankees" Theater Postcard advertising the upcoming movie, is neatly postally used (just a typed address and cancellation), and graded a BVG 5.
I have never seen another item like this and it very well may be unique. After all, who keeps ads now of upcoming movies? How many postcards were actually sent out by theaters during this time?
Excellent piece of ephemera for the Gehrig or sports movie collector. Not looking to get rich. Will take the first buyer at $50 SOLD via PayPal Friends & Family.
