not literally comparing the two....millions of year old fossils and 100 year old cardboard are of course on the different spectrum....it was a simple analogy ...

a fossil is a small puzzle piece of the whole( plant/insect/entire dinosaur)
a T206 scrap is a small piece of the whole(the print sheet)...
just saying that printer's scrap has been traditionally mis understood over the years and their significance to the understanding of the print process...
some collectors just haven't grasped it yet, nor care, but ignorance is bliss
