Take the statement for what it is. A generalization.
MOST cards from 1970-present
ARE virtually worthless. Think of the millions and millions of cards from the '80s and all the beat-up '70s stuff out there and the statement isn't that unreasonable.
And look at it this way. He's actually providing a service, so that I won't expect to make a ton of money off all those '88 Donruss cards I have when I pull out my price guide.
