Default American Paint Journal Baseball Cartoon Identification Help

Hi-
Here is another mystery item I have had for about a year and my research has come up empty. It is a framed cartoon of a baseball player. Does anyone recognize the player? I am curious if this is someone famous or if it is the owner of a paint company? The image is labeled American Paint Journal within the frame so maybe it is a cutout from that publication? The frame is labeled M F Bragdon Paint CO. Portland ME.

This was hanging in an old barn and only cost me a dollar. However, it was a pain taking it down as there were boxes of other items (mostly newer magazines) I had to step on to retrieve this (not to mention the spider webs and other stuff hanging all over the wall where this was displayed). The person I bought it from could not remember where he got it or anything else about it unfortunately. This barn has yielded some nice items, but I have an odd feeling this one has already been much more trouble than its monetary or historical worth.

Alan
