This is Irv and when I bought him, a long time ago, I thought it was really CY.
I still don't think this card was supposed to picture Cy Young just because it says Cy. Irv Young was called Cy Young back then, sometimes Cy the second, but do you really think they would write out all that on a card? In the early days, they had no problem repeating nicknames if players had the same last name. Even Harley Young was called Cy Young and he went 0-3 in his brief career. If you ever read old papers from when both Cy Young and Irv Young played, sometimes they called Cy Young "Old Cy Young" to differentiate the two players. In my opinion, there wasn't any mistake on that card.

Please check out my books on baseball history. They include the bio of star second baseman Dots Miller. A book featuring 20 Moonlight Graham players who got into just one game. Another with 13 players who were with the Pittsburgh Pirates during the regular season, but never played a game. There's also one about 27 baseball families, as well as a day-by-day look at the worst team in Pittsburgh Pirates history. All five can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/stores/John-D...hor/B0DH87Q2DS
