Insurance
Years ago my cards were covered under a rider on my regular policy. I was burglarized and ended up losing quite a bit. The insurance company eventually paid about $7000, which was the value of the items that were stolen. They also dropped me as fast as they could.
I bought a security alarm system. the thief returned a few months later and left the house quickly when the alarm went off. Unfortunatly the window he tore out was less than my $500 deductible. And he got a Vince Coleman rookie!!
Allstate covered my collection for many years after that, but last year when I moved they dropped the coverage that had been "grandfathered" in.
I appreciate this thread, because I need to get a new policy.
