Default Fake autographs and complaints about PSA -- in 1996

Today I was sorting my Sports Collectors Digests from 1992-1999 (when it was often 300 pages and 2 sections), and on the cover of the April 5, 1996 issue I saw the teaser headline, "PSA Cards Still Draw Controversy". Inside on pages 80-81 was an article about whether PSA (by then already the dominant TPG) was a good thing for the hobby, and whether people were paying too much for PSA 9s and 10s. The issue also had a shorter article about efforts to fight fake autographs in the hobby. Given how relevant both of those issues still are today, I thought people might like to see how the hobby was handling them 23 years ago.
