In your posted examples the first ( on the left ) I would not be comfortable with LOA or not . The second one ( the book) is good IMO and an accepted signature variation of Chadwick's.
Authenticity of the signatures of the more scarce guys sure is tough to know. The second example is in my collection. I appreciate your willingness to share your opinion. With all that's been said, I think I'll pass on buying it.
