I'm lucky enough to have gotten the Vaughn, along with the other E98s that I posted, as part of a complete all green set obtained by my father and I from the original collector back in the mid 70's.
As far as Vaughns possible scarcity with a green background, I can't speak with much authority but when I used to track E98 sales before the BSF there did seem to be certain player/background color combination scarcities within the set.
