I have a bunch of Mantles that FINALLY came back from PSA. I scanned the 50s and 60s together, but will list them separately in the correct categories. The 60s cards will be in the 1960-69 category
1954 Red Heart - came back as evidence of recoloring. I have been all over it today with a 10x loupe, and just cannot figure out what they are seeing that I am not. Card looks like a 6 or better, so I was very disappointed, to say the least
In any case, it's raw and I'm thinking of sending to SGC to get it in an Authentic slab. VCP average says $650 for SGC A, but there are not a lot of them and none since 2020. There has been one PSA A in 2021, and it sold for $2K. I'm looking for $550
1954 Bowman PSA 3 - this is the greatest 3 you will ever see. There are no wrinkles, etc. Believe it was marked down because there is a patch on the back of the card on which the card stock (in the background) is lighter colored than the rest. The type is same boldness as rest of back, so probably was flaw of original card stock. 3 seems very harsh. See what you think. Looking for $1100, which is higher than average because of eye appeal.
1958 Topps PSA 5 - Nice card. Shaper than most 5s, but centering is off. Think the grading is fair. $900
The 60s Mantles will be listed in the 1960-69 section.
