Default Deadball Autographs of New York Highlanders & Yankees for Sale

1. Wid Conroy 3x5 Index Card signed on the lined side in blue ink. A member of the original 1903 NY Highlander team, Conroy is a somewhat difficult signature to obtain. He played for the Highlanders from 1903 through 1908. Conroy died in 1959. $200 OBO

2. John Ganzel Cut Signature attached to 3x5 index card; ink signature. Another member of the original 1903 Highlander team, Ganzel stayed with the team through the 1904 season. A tough signature to find; Ganzel died in 1959. $150 OBO

3. Dave Fultz Signed Index Card. Signed in blue ink on unlined vintage card. Fultz was a member of the original 1903 NY Highlanders and stayed with the team through 1905. Fultz died in 1959 and is an extremely difficult signature to obtain. This one comes with a James Spence Authentication Sticker on back. $125 OBO -- SOLD!

4. James "Deacon" McGuire Handwritten Letter dated 1887 on front. Extraordinarily rare signature. McGuire played for the Highlanders from 1904 through part of the 1907 season. Handwritten on both sides of the sheet, and most importantly, signed "J. McGuire" with his address, at the close of the letter. There is some tape or tape remnants on the letter which you can see in the photo. McGuire died in 1936 and is an exceedingly rare signature.
$1,100 OBO

5. Frank Delahanty Signed Index Card. Signed in ink on unlined index card. A tough signature to find and this one is a beauty. Delahanty played for the Highlanders in 1905-06 & again in 1908. He died in 1966. $225 OBO

6. Dirty Jack Doyle Signed 1926 One-Page Contract. Beautiful contract signed by both Jack Doyle and William Veeck. Contract has fold lines as you'd likely expect. Doyle played exactly 1 game for the 1905 Highlanders where he finished his playing career. A very difficult signature to obtain and this one is hard to improve. $650 OBO

7. Harry Niles Signed 1951 GPC from the James Davis Collection. Niles played for the Highlanders in 1908. He died in 1953 and his signature is scarce. This is a gorgeous example. $350 OBO

8. Roy Hartzel Cut Signature attached to a photo postcard. Hartzel played for the Highlanders and Yankees from 1911 to 1916. A difficult signature to obtain; Hartzel died in 1961. $250 OBO

9. Pat Collins 1955 GPC signed in blue ink. First name has slight bleeding but does not really affect the signature. Collins began his career in 1919 and played for the Yankees from 1926 through 1928; making him a member of the highly coveted 1927 Yankees. Extremely difficult signature to obtain. This one is a rare beauty! $500 OBO

10. Walt Smallwood Cut Signature attached to approx. 3.5"x5.5" photo. Smallwood played for the Yankees in 1917 and 1919 appearing in a total of 8 games. His signature is very tough, and this is a nice pencil signature of this elusive Yankee. $125 OBO

11. Walt Alexander Cut Signature attached to 3x5 Index card. Alexander died in 1978, and yet his signature is extremely difficult to find. Others surely exist in private collections, but I have seen only one other example which was from the Jack Smalling collection. A beautiful ink signature of the extremely difficult Yankee. You may not get another chance on an Alexander signature. $300 OBO
