We live 7 miles north of Washington Crossing, here in Pennsylvania. George Washington crossed the Delaware River on Christmas Eve 1776
to win the battle of Trenton over the British and the Hessians.
This event was our 1st significant victory in the Revolution. And was the start of a series of victories over the British in the following months.
Every Christmas day this event is re-enacted. It's quite a sight to see.
