They definitely would.
But, you might have an issue getting them to slab it as a 1955 or 1956. If you look at the top PSA Mantle Registry sets, you will see the image of your Mantle slabbed as from the 1957 Yankees Photo Pack. The image of him holding the bat with the black background is slabbed as a 1956 Yankees Photo Pack. Would they be willing to do yours with a 1955 or 1956 date? I doubt it without a whole lot of convincing.
