"incredibly stupid shit" per our resident Rhodes Scholar G1911, either. I
proposed a series of measures every party at a show can do IF people are as
concerned about theft (and worse) as they say, which I believe they are. It's
not hard to comprehend, people need to take heed at shows for their own
sake.
G1911- If you think I'll "back off" from the likes of you, you are dumber
than even I believed. You and PeterSpaeth would be utterly useless if an
actual theft occurred near you or to you- while you were busy debating the
philosophical ramifications of confronting or identifying the thief, or perhaps
thinking of words that rhyme with "thief", he'd just run away. Just so you
don't take THAT quote into outer space, I do NOT want either of you to be
victims of theft at a show. DO NOT. Got that? I don't care if you carry open,
carry concealed, or use a pop gun with a "Bang" sign like Road Runner. I
don't care if you tape money to your forehead and invite theft. Got it? I do
care, however, that people with legitimate concerns (not empty-headed
distraction and deliberate moving of goalposts to hide one's own illogic) do
something to minimize the chances of theft. You're a part of the problem
rather than the solution- it's well established. So, keep lying and joking.
It's really funny, you are quite the cut up!
TLDR- Theft at shows is a real thing. It's not everyone else's concern, it's
everybody's concern. Wake up!

Take a breath. Yoda is very, very, very obviously making a joke. You don't need to be a Rhodes scholar Hummingbird like Peter and I to realize this.
While it's really, really funny to watch you meltdown when I post against lynch mob murders (literally!) or shooting people for non-violent theft or drawing guns in crowded venues, this is getting a little sad.
Pretend it's not me, pretend somebody else said it. Take a step back, and a deep breath. This is what started your anger:

These incidents have not been thieves threatening the dealer or anyone else, or doing so in a way that would make a reasonable person fear for the lives of themselves or others. It's been breaking into an unoccupied car (or in one case, just opening the unlocked car) or grabbing while a dealer isn't looking. That's not a legal reason to shoot them, nor is it an ethical one. Carrying a gun, if one so chooses, is a responsibility that requires one to de-escalate, not shoot anyone who breaks a law, especially in a public venue. It is a tool of last resort, not a first resort to show how tough one is or to shoot any lawbreaker. In none of these of incidents would even drawing ones weapon be legal or ethical. In none of them would responsible carry have changed the outcome whatsoever.

Step back and think for just five seconds. Why are you so extremely angry someone said this? Does it make any sense to attack this and anyone and everyone who vaguely agrees with my point that guns are only a last desperate measure when extreme danger of risk of life is involved?
Take a moment, maybe reflect a little. This is the second time on this forum you have had a public meltdown because I didn't endorse violence. Is this reasonable behavior? Can you understand the difference between person and idea? Can you see how these nasty screeds that are nothing but random insults and batshit crazy statements don't do anything but make you look like an idiot?
Peter and I usually disagree. Does that mean that when Hummingbird 1 posts Hummingbird 2 should immediately attack full throttle and take the most extreme opposite option without any regard for common sense or decency? No. If you look at the idea and what somebody actually says, you will find that you probably agree with them at least some of the time. And if you disagree with them, there's a sane and rational way to do so and make a better argument than you think they made. Which will often upset people too, but that's life. While you might strongly disagree with somebody, that doesn't make them evil.
Even if you have an intense personal hatred for somebody and a burning passion to attack on a message board, there is a better way. I have plenty of unpopular opinions. Wait and attack me when I say something you might be able to argue is factually wrong, or is a bad or harmful opinion I have. You will get plenty of support even with a poor argument, attacking me obviously polls very well here. You are free to go off on me as much as you wish or send hate mail or whatever and maintain this bizarre vendetta as your core purpose. But when you do these things in response to innocuous non-violence, you just sound like a violent lunatic. You don't need to insult and verbally assault people who really have nothing to do with me like Peter, Adam and Yoda just because they didn't support your extremely difficult to defend position. Not everyone who agrees on a common sense thing is connected together or against you. You bring unity to people who disagree by having these extreme over-the-top reactions to nothing.
For the record, since this evidently necessary, my comments about bulges are a joke when I saw a layup for one. My post telling Peter I didn't know what he meant was a lie, part of the joke. I have never brought a hand grenade to a card show.
