I think that's hilarious, but I personally don't think it means anything.

I know prognosticators were gushing all over him for that draft, but he was a reach at #4. It may be, he's just not very good and never was.

NFL GM's are constantly afraid of missing out on the next Josh Allen.

Big, toolsy guy who can run a bit, with a supposed big arm, but hasn't quite been "unlocked" yet at the college level for whatever reason. Diamond in the rough with all the athletic traits, but hasn't been "taught" to be accurate or make smart decisions yet.

In 2018 it was Josh Allen (worked out great)
In 2019 ironically that guy was Daniel Jones (promising Rookie year, and acceptable 2022, but mostly horrible)
In 2021 it was Trey Lance (horrible)
In 2023 it was Anthony Richardson (so far...not good)

I wonder if the Colts are deciding to tank this year. Whether Jones is any good may be entirely contingent on the offensive line. He's horrible under pressure. I did notice Richardson only took 14 sacks in 11 games last year, Flacco took 18 in the other 6 starts for the Colts. I'm guessing Richardson already has better pocket awareness then Jones, who took a ridiculously absurd 30 sacks in 6 games 2 years ago.

May be they are throwing Jones to the lions, letting Richardson sit back and watch for a little while until Jones inevitably gets hurt, and hoping Richardson will grow a little in the process. He is still younger then a lot of QB's who came into the league after him.
